Pd(0)-catalyzed chemoselective construction of spirocarbocycles via an alkyne insertion/β-naphthol dearomatization cascade.

A microwave-assisted Pd(0)-catalyzed alkyne migratory insertion/β-naphthol dearomatization cascade process has been accomplished to access a variety of spirocyclic compounds bearing all-carbon quaternary stereogenic centers in high yields with excellent chemoselectivities.

A palladium-catalyzed alkylation/direct arylation synthesis of nitrogen-containing heterocycles.

A norbornene-mediated palladium-catalyzed sequence is described in which an alkyl-aryl bond and an aryl-heteroaryl bond are formed in one reaction vessel. The aryl-heteroaryl bond-forming step occurs via a direct arylation reaction. A number of six-, seven-, and eight-membered ring-annulated indoles, pyrroles, pyrazoles, and azaindoles were synthesized from the corresponding bromoalkyl azole an...

Palladium-catalyzed direct arylation of benzoxazoles with unactivated simple arenes.

Using CuBr(2) as an additive, the Pd-catalyzed intermolecular C-H-C-H cross-coupling between benzoxazoles and unactivated simple arenes has been developed. This protocol provides a straightforward approach for the biological activity of 2-arylbenzoxazole derivatives.

Palladium-catalyzed direct arylation of indoles with arylsulfonyl hydrazides.

A novel method to synthesise 2-arylindoles is demonstrated via direct arylation of indoles with arylsulfonyl hydrazides. Under the optimized reaction conditions, the reaction well tolerates a wide variety of functional groups to afford structurally diverse 2-arylindoles in good to excellent yields at 70 °C.

Palladium-Catalyzed α-Arylation of Benzylic Phosphonates

A new synthetic route to access diarylmethyl phosphonates is presented. The transformation enables the introduction of aromatic groups on benzylic phosphonates via a deprotonative cross-coupling process (DCCP). The Pd(OAc)2/CataCXium A-based catalyst afforded a reaction between benzyl diisopropyl phosphonate derivatives and aryl bromides in good to excellent isolated yields (64-92%).
